TRUCKER BUDDY ANNOUNCES ADDITIONS TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS, OFFICERS

Trucker Buddy International has announced the addition of three new board members and new officers for the next fiscal year, starting in 2016. With the eight-year term on the Board of Directors expiring for Elisabeth Barna, K.C. Brau, Mark Reddig and Steve Sichterman, Trucker Buddy elected Henry Albert, Scott Grenerth and Andrew Mitrisin to replace them on the Board. Previously appointed to the Board, Linda Caffee was elected as President, replacing retiring K.C. Brau. In addition, Brad Williamson was elected as Vice President and Kate Miller accepted the Treasurer position.
New Board Member Henry Albert is an owner operator and principal of Albert Transport. Considered an expert in trucking efficiency, Albert is a member of the Freightliner Run Smart Program and has been an active Trucker Buddy. Scott Grenerth is the Director of Regulatory Affairs for OOIDA, and has been active in Trucker Buddy. Coming from a trucking family, Andrew Mitrisin is the Communications Specialist for the American Trucking Associations. Previously, Mitrisin worked at AmeriCorps, helping young students to excel.
“We want to thank K.C., Mark, Elisabeth and Steve for eight tremendous years of service to Trucker Buddy,” said Executive Director Randy Schwartzenburg. “K.C. was such a tremendous President, working tirelessly behind the scenes promoting Trucker Buddy and conducting Trucker Buddy programs.
“Thanks to the leadership of all four outgoing board members, Trucker Buddy is in better position for the future. The new board members have begun there new terms. We are excited to have them on the leadership team, each bringing a unique skill set to help Trucker Buddy in our upcoming opportunities.”

Trucker Buddy International

Trucker Buddy International, an independent, non-profit 501(c) (3) organization, often called the number one trucking image campaign in North America, helps educate schoolchildren and introduces educators to the trucking industry. This gives them the world through the eyes of a professional truck driver. The Trucker Buddy program helps to educate and mentor schoolchildren via a pen pal relationship between professional truck drivers and Grades K-8 students supervised by their teachers.

After an extensive screening process, the professional truck drivers are matched with a class and are directed by a teacher. Drivers share news about their travels with their assigned class while students write letters and send pictures to their classroom driver. Students’ skills in reading, writing, geography, mathematics, social studies and history are enhanced and learning is made fun.

Since 1992, Trucker Buddy International has helped educate over a million schoolchildren and introduced them to caring, compassionate men and women, professional truck drivers. The on-going success of the program is due to driver volunteers, participating teachers and the contributions of sponsors. There is no cost to the drivers or teachers to participate in the program. The Trucker Buddy program is funded entirely by sponsorships and donations. If you would like to make a donation, click here.
